GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION
The purpose of this safety sensitive (SS) position is to assist in the maintaining of geographic information systems data for the city of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for organizing, maintaining, and updating the City's GIS data. This duty is performed daily.
Responsible for assisting all City employees who work with GIS data, regardless of department. This duty is performed daily.
Responsible for consulting with outside organizations to improve GIS integrity and usefulness and reduce duplicate efforts. This duty is performed as needed.
Responsible for database development, consulting, and technical specifications on geospatial framework data. This duty is performed daily.
Responsible for ensuring that GIS data remains updated as the City develops. This duty is performed daily.
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of data for entry into the Jonesboro GIS Databases. This duty is performed daily.
Recommend solutions for large scale geospatial database design utilizing digital ortho-photography, global positioning systems and satellite or other remotely sensed image products. This duty is performed as needed.
Provides GIS data to City employees and to the public as needed. This duty is performed as needed.
Performs analysis on GIS data. This duty is performed on a regular basis.
Integrates data from other sources into the Jonesboro GIS. This duty is performed daily.
Operating a city vehicle is required for the essential functions.
Other related duties as assigned.
